The Asha Project’s mission is to help the underprivileged people of Nepal to rebuild their lives and renew their hope.
HOW WE STARTED
The Asha Project was originally founded in 2015 in response to the Nepal earthquake which left thousands dead, but our mission extended much before that.
The Asha Project is a non-profit organization that partners with communities in Nepal through a holistic, sustainable development model that equips families with the tools and skills they need for a brighter future. Starting from a small $500 donation in 1992, we have provided thousands of dollars in scholarships and have helped build places of hope such as science labs, libraries, and water projects. In addition to that, we have loaned more than $150,000 in micro-credit loans in Nepal, along with countless donations.
THE ASHA MODEL
We created a development model that address the five primary causes of poverty with holistic and sustainable solutions that work in tandem to transform communities.
THE THREE PILLARS
The Asha Model is an adaptive, effective three-pillar framework built on 29 years of experience collaborating with dedicated community members to find solutions that provide hope to people in Nepal.
We assist in the re-building of homes and schools in Nepal to provide a place for children to learn and pull themselves out of poverty.
By providing micro-credit loans to grow micro-businesses we give families the opportunity to gain knowledge and stable source of income.
We provide $100,000 in annual scholarships for under-represented ethnic groups in Nepal to continue their education.
