OUR FOUNDERS

Dr. Maharjan

Dr. Maharjan is a dynamic servant leader who is responsible for developing International projects to empower youth and women in developing countries and providing matching grants for poor people. He is devoted to promoting hands-on volunteering service to help global communities. He is recognized worldwide for his compassion and innovative service projects. He has volunteered for many social causes and humanitarian organizations since he was a teenager. He is a world-renowned faculty on volunteerism and fundraising. He is an accomplished team builder for non-profit sectors. Dr. Maharjan is recognized for his work with youth/women empowerment and social inclusion. He has motivated many youth groups to become effective leaders. He has worked with many religious, ethnic and regional organizations to achieve social harmony and symbiotic relationships in our communities. He closely works with individuals to improve their quality of life.

Dr. Tulsi Maharjan

ANIL

Anil Asha Project

Anil is a Certified Public Accountant by trade. He received his Bachelors of Science in Business Administration from Babson College and spent time working for the international public accounting firm, PricewaterhouseCoopers. Currently, he is working in Seattle, Washington and helping with the Asha project -NEPAL, which aims to help the people of Nepal following the 2015 earthquake. For this work, he received America’s Presidential Service Gold Award. He continually encourages others to persistently work towards their goals, no matter whether others understand their vision. Outside of work Anil is an Eagle Scout, avid soccer player, music lover and traveler and hopes to one day be able to teach and run his own business.

TARA

Tara is the Processing Archivist at Special Collections and University Archives at Rutgers University. She holds Masters degrees from Simmons College in History and Library Science with a concentration in archiving. Prior to Rutgers, she worked as a Cataloger at the Internet Archive and a cookbook librarian for America’s Test Kitchen. In addition to her processing, she curates the New Jersey beer collection for Special Collections and oversees the outreach and social media for Rutgers SC/UA (@rutgers_scua). Tara is also a member of the South Asian American Digital Archive’s (SAADA) 2018-2019 Archivists’ Collective. She has been helping with the Asha Project since the inception of the project.
